All of you must have already heard of the words Crypto Currency and Blockchain in all media platforms social media and even the newspaper. If you are reading this and you have never heard of Crypto Currency till now then I would suggest you google a bit and then come back because I will not be able to explain in detail about each and every type of currency. A very simple definition is "Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that is secured by cryptography, which makes it nearly impossible to counterfeit or double-spend", and the value of cryptocurrency is determined by the effort required to generate one unit of that currency. BitCoin today is currently priced at $46,836 (34,76,027.41 INR), yes that's a lot and entering this bitcoin market now may not be the best way to go as you could say the "The BitCoin Ship has sailed" because BitCoin was once very very low priced before the crypto trend started but later when more people started investing and mining along with more coins derived from these base coins, the price of BitCoin soared like anything. As in the case of any market, the price of bitcoin is also highly volatile and unlike buying shares or stocks, crypto currency is currently unregulated which means if you lose all your coin or make a tonne of coin, there is nobody officially keeping track of the movement of this currency. Several countries have banned, unbanned and even declared statements in between regarding the legal status of cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency can be obtained by two method, easy way being purchasing the coins from a selling platform like Binance, CoinSwitch Kuber, WazirX etc and the second method is what we are going to look at today, Mining. Purchasing coins is easy but you need money to invest, so if you don't have that but do have a capable PC/laptop you can actually generate Cryptocurrency. Yes, I am not joking you can actually create cryptocurrency and this is where the effort to value logic I mentioned earlier comes into play. Expensive coins take a lot of time to mine whereas less expensive or coins that just started may be at a very low price so why not focus on mining those as a side task for your system while you work. Something you need to understand is that an actual mining system is definitely expensive and needs to be set up with a particular configuration to making the process profitable. Otherwise if you use a low config system and try to mine the most expensive currency then you will be paying more electricity bill than the actual revenue you are making. The websites like the one below helps users identify what currency is best for their configuration,
We are going to look at a very simple method we can use to mine on almost any system, but as I said before don't aim for the coins that are already expensive instead try mining coins that are extremely cheap now which means the mining will be easier and quicker which we are going to save in our wallet and hopefully in a few years when and if the price of these coins spike like BitCoin then you are the happiest person in the world and if it doesn't perform. . . . who cares, we hardly spend money on the mining process just system time. So lets start. . .
I am not a serious crypto miner and I do not have a mining rig but due to my curiosity and obvious hopes of becoming a millionaire some day I do run mining as a side task on my system which means I will be working on something that does not require a lot of system performance so I run mining on the side so that will mine while I work, the mining application uses part of system resource and get me some coins but I do not keep my system turned on just to mine that would be a waste of money. I have tested a lot of applications and also monitored the system performance/temperature while running these mining applications and some of them on the wrong setting can even crash your system. I could here my processor fan roaring and the temperatures started shooting up when I ran a few and that will harm your system. You can use the application I am about to suggest or any better application of your choice but please make sure you have some temperature monitoring software installed on your system, the PC temperature should not stay above 70 degrees for long periods. The below guidelines are as per my experience on my i5 system
We will be using an application called unMineable, which you can download the zip file from the below link,
Before you download the application, please make sure that you turn off your anti-virus temporarily till you complete the extraction. You can add an exception for the application in your anti-virus system so that it does not remove your mining files. I have been using this application for months now and it has not harmed my system in any way that I know. So after you extract the zip file to a folder on your system and before you run the application we need to get an online wallet which can safely store your crypto currency. My personal preference for this would be Binance platform as they are well experienced in this platform and has the option to deal with a lot of different types of Cryptos
You can directly register for unMineable and Binance but I am providing these referral links because unMineable gives you a reduction in mining fee and Binance will give you a reduction in commission fee if you use referral links when you register.
Registration process in Binance will take some time as you need to provide all the correct details and also complete a KYC so that your account is secure and has full functionality. So after you setup your account, now we are ready to start mining and all we need to look for is what to mine. You can mine for any currency that is supported by unMineable, the below is just a part of a long list
Once you decided on the coin, lets start the unMineable application from the extracted folder and you will get the below screen
Now you get to the screen where you have to choose the coin you wish to mine and also the Crypto wallet address to which the coins need to be transferred and this is why we created the Binance account so that we get an address for transferring the coins
Click the "I have a referral code" and enter my code: b6r6-lrie Now for the address, please login to your Binance account and on top of the website click on the Wallet drop down and choose Fiat and Spot
Search for the currency and click on the "Deposit" option and in the next window you should get the address which is a long string of number and digits which you need to copy and paste into the unMineable application. Please remember that this address changes with currency and is unique to each person. You can even give this address to someone who wants to transfer that crypto to your account and you will receive it.
On the unMineable application, we have now chosen the currency, added the respective crypto address, and also added the referral code "b6r6-lrie" of the mining fee reduction. Click Start and that is all we need to do, the application will now start mining the coin you selected
High setting would use more power and system resource but would give better mining performance, whereas low setting will keep your system working smooth with minimum system resource usage but the mining will be a lot slower. Choose a setting as per your preference and always monitor your processor and GPU temperature. You can use applications like,
I would like to remind you once again that extreme mining without proper monitoring of system temperature can seriously damage your hardware so please make sure that the temperatures do not spike beyond processor acceptable standards for extended period of time. I am only suggesting this application because out of the several I tried, this one seems to have the least impact on the system temperature and gives access to a lot of currencies with very simple interface and settings. Please use these instruction as just a basic starting point to crypto currency mining.
Note: Some currencies may require additional packages like xmrig to be added to the unMineable application for proper functioning. Instructions for which package to use will be available in the unMineable website which you can download and add the folder to the unMineable extract folder. After adding the miner, just choose miner location from the unMineable app starting screen.
